Get your Spiderman 3 tickets NOW!

I’ve just read an interesting bit of news about Spiderman 3 over at Cinema Blend, and if it’s true, I think Spiderman 3 has a great chance to beat the record for opening weekend gross set by Pirates of the Caribbean 2…..

According to the scoop, Movietickets.com is reporting that tickets for Spidey 3 are selling 3 times faster than Spiderman 2, and Fandango.com says they are selling their tickets four times faster!

FYI,  Spiderman 2 made $88 million in its opening weekend….Part of the reason is probably the fact that 2 released on a Wednesday, but this still bodes well for the third installment making a healthy sum of money in just over a week….We’ll see this May 4th.  I’ve got my fingers crossed!

Who’ll play Spidey in Spiderman 4?

It’s the inevitable question….If Tobey Maguire doesn’t decide to return to Spiderman 4 (which may or may not be true…if they are up for offering him a lot of money he’d come back), who will fill in the tights?

Found this interesting scoop on his possible replacement…..Anyone seen 10 Things I Hate About You, or more recently The Lookout….

The rumors say that Sony may be consdiering Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play Spiderman in the sequel if Maguire doesn’t return.  I know everyone has heard the Jake Gyllenhall rumors after Maguire was going to drop out of Spiderman 2 because of back problems, but he’s really famous now, and probably would demand a very high salary.

Honestly, I think JGL would be a great fit for the role…it’d be interesting to see how he was in a major blockbuster.  It’ll be interesting to see if this ever happens, considering Spiderman 3 is going to make a boatload of cash…

But still…..I’m intrigued.

Superman is still around

I’d like to say that I’m glad to see the return of Superman last summer in Superman Returns has had a lasting effect.

Seems like I can walk into a Wal-Mart once a month and still manage to find a new item with some form of the Superman logo engraved on it.

Just in the past week, I’ve managed to see Supes-themed Easter egg baskets, easter eggs, and the usual beach towels and bed sheets…etc.

They’re also gearing up for Spiderman 3…the little easter eggs that look like Spiderman’s head gave me a laugh.

I don’t ever remember seeing this much movie-themed movie merchandise in stores before….Have you?

Spiderman 3 Final Full Trailer Up!

There’s one final Spiderman 3 trailer up now, courtesy of Comcast.  I’ve become slightly concerned about this movie, simply based on the fact that they’ve released so much footage!  I’m worried I may have seen the best of what they’ve got so far.

The latest trailer is again Venom-centric, with glimpses at new footage.  I’m still excited, because I think I remember the same things happening before Spiderman 2, and it’s now one of my favorites of all-time.

I think it will be interesting to see where they go with the series once this one comes out.

I’m glad Transformers has been pretty good about keeping their “epic shots” unrevealed so we’ll be surprised when the movie is in theatres.

Even still, May 4th can’t come soon enough!

Tobey Turning in His Tights?

By the looks of it, even though Spiderman 4 has been commissioned and the process already started, Tobey Maguire may not be around as the web-slinger anymore.

I think they’ve been saying this for over a year now, off-and-on, and I’ll buy it once it’s official. If they wave enough money in front of Tobey, I’m sure he may reconsider….Either way, it would be cool to see who they chose to fill his shoes (and probably Mary Jane’s too).

And while we’re on it real quick, I’m thinking the odds of a Venom spinoff are sounding pretty good right now…..Wonder if that will ever happen?

Aint It Cool has this post, and so does Coming Soon! It’s supposedly a new poster, but it doesn’t have any writing on it. I’m assuming it may later transform magically into a poster for the movie.

Either way….that black symbiote creep up Spidey’s arm is pretty darn cool!
