So a couple of photos have been released and made the rounds to all my usual hang outs.
The main focus from the upcoming film is now the “Batpod”, which is essentially the new Batcycle. Go here to see the photos.
Honestly, I trust Chris Nolan with this one, but the bike in the photos looks awfully plain. That said, in motion, there’s probably some sick maneuvers he has in mind for Batman to be doing on the bike, so I’d really like to see a preview of this in the trailer. So far, this film just continues to get bigger and bigger.
Maybe next summer won’t be as empty as it seems like it is going to be.
So Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer managed to survive all the bad buzz and raked in an estimated $57.4 million during its opening weekend.
Honestly, I’m glad it did this well, because it’s been blasted lately for all the creative differences it has from the comics (Galactus…primarily), and all-in-all seemed to be written off before even giving it a chance.
I saw the film last night, and it was actually the most entertaining of the summer for me so far….That said, it wasn’t mind-blowing or the best movie I’ve ever seen. I did have issues with some of the omissions and lack of development, but I left the theatre having been entertained. It really doesn’t seem as short as an hour and a half movie would usually seem, which was good, because that worried me.
It’s probably going to suffer some major drops in a couple weeks when Transformers and Harry Potter come into theatres, but until that time comes, I suggest at least seeing this one once, and maybe even a repeat.
I’m starting to think Evan Almighty might be the huge movie-bomb this summer. Literally no one is talking about the movie. I may see it for Steve Carell, but I think movie execs should be concerned seeing as the budget was rumored along the lines of $250 million.

Sorry this isn’t updated nearly as much anymore….Honestly, there isn’t too much going on right now. TV is pretty scarce (at least Rescue Me) returns this week….and I’ve yet to still be blown away by a summer movie.
I just got out of a matinee of Ocean’s 13, and I’m glad to say it was a much more enjoyable movie than I expected after the second one totally fumbled the ball. I still think the original blew me away the most, mainly because I wasn’t always looking for a reason for what was happening on the screen. I swear, by the final half hour I was calling what was going on, and felt like there was attention paid to detail that wasn’t even necessary.
That said, this one did have some funny lines in it…I always love it when a movie can relate to something in a way that I talk about to my friends. They make a crack about CGI that I found incredibly funny…..not sure why, but probably because it’s the same discussion I have with other people about other movies.
And the trailer for Die Hard in a huge theatre is so much cooler. I really wish it were rated R, but at this point there’s no turning back. I’m ready to get to some action films finally (that hopefully deliver better than in the month of May!).
That all said, if you haven’t seen Ocean’s 13 yet, I recommend you see it at least once……
Don’t forget, tonight is the MTV Movie Awards!
I’m excited because I hear Transformers footage/tie-ins will be littered throughout! Should be interesting now that the results aren’t gonna be spoiled since it’s live.
That’s nice…because it has definitely suffered ever since Jimmy Fallon and Kirsten Dunst hosted way back in 2002-ish….
This is disappointing news for me, even considering that I just latched onto Battlestar Galactica this season. I’ve heard rumblings and seen articles mentioning (and now confirming) the show will end after this upcoming 4th season.
Honestly, it’s sad….a bunch of shows are ending, and there’s not much coming in the way of new smash hits….I guess Heroes counts for me, but other than that, I was looking forward to Battlestar being around for awhile.
At least this final season will “go out with a bang” as they are saying….
