NewThe Incredible HulkPoster

leave a comment »

On the superhero movie front, IGN has debuted a new poster for this summer’s The Incredible Hulk, which you can see below.

An Incredible look!

Needless to say, the towering image of the Hulk hovering over Ed Norton’s Bruce Banner is an awesome sight.  I don’t care he’s facing back-to-back…I just think it’s cool.

I know there’s still a lot of complaining about how fake the CGI looks on the Hulk, but all that aside, I think this could shape up to be a huge blockbuster this summer….These underdogs always seem to do well, and I know there are plenty of people out there who want to see The Incredible Hulk perform well.

The Mummy 3: Still no trailer?!

leave a comment »

The movie comes out in August, it’s nearly April and we still don’t have a teaser trailer….

The other night I saw a trailer for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs….it doesn’t come out for ONE AND A HALF YEARS.

Get on the advertising bandwagon Universal…every time I tell someone there’s a new Mummy movie come out, they don’t believe me! (or they’re surprised…but glad to hear it, nonetheless)

Teaser Musings: The Mummy 3

leave a comment »

There’s finally some updates on The Mummy 3 out tonight, and honestly, I’m excited for what I’m reading.  I know there’s not many movie moguls out there that are dying to see a third Mummy movie, but I liked the first two a great deal.  I know Rob Cohen, who directed The Fast and the Furious, is not an ideal director for some, but I really enjoy those movies as well, and I’m eager to see what he can do with a much bigger, blockbuster kind of picture.  Here’s what he has to say…

“I have shown the film to the exec’s at Universal and they are through-the-roof ecstatic. We screened a few weeks ago for all the relevant department heads (home video, distribution, foreign, p.r., marketing, etc.) and the reaction was unanimous. It’s running around 1 hr. 53 minutes and, daily as we hone, it’s taking its final shape. The studio has been very collaborative and supportive. You know they love it when they ask you if you need any more money to enhance the visual effects budget!!! Are there more shots that I want to do but didn’t have the money to do?!!! Of course, the answer is yes; there is never enough to entertain the audience in any film. That kind of support from Chairmen Marc Shmuger and David Linde, President Donna Langley, and V.P.’s Jeff Kirschenbaum and Erik Baiers is rare in Hollywood so I am very pleased all the way around.”

Also, he’s apparently said in his blog that a teaser will appear soon…All I can say is….IT’S ABOUT TIME!  I read a possible description of what to expect, and if it’s right, it sounds like it won’t disappoint….

G.I. Joe Musings – New “Snake Eyes” photo

I don’t know much about G.I. Joe…I vaguely remember the cartoon way back when I was younger.  All I have to say is that this new photo of Snake Eyes has me intrigued by the possibilities.

Musing Review: “I Am Legend”

leave a comment »

I went into “I Am Legend” with mild expectations. My brother had said it was nothing spectacular, but that it wasn’t horrible….and by all former indications, we generally share the same opinion on most movies.

There’s been a bunch of hoopla mainly because of an alternate ending that was shot and replaced what was originally intended. I’ve had to wait until now to see what people were talking about. I’ve suprisingly managed to stay spoiler-free up until watching it, which almost never happens, and after being able to compare both endings, I think Warner Bros. made a mistake in the ending they chose.

I’ll get to that in a minute.

Overall, the first half of the movie tends to be very quiet, and I actually enjoyed it. Will Smith was on his game, as usual, and delivered a great performance. The dog that shares screen time with him, Sam, was also quite well. Sam is part of his family, and I really bought into their relationship. (I had read where they had to train the dog to work around Will Smith…it was actually pretty interesting)

In fact, if you’ve seen Cast Away, this movie is essentially the same, with Sam taking the place of Wilson the volleyball. It gives the movie some much needed dialogue. If you liked most of Cast Away, then you’ll probably enjoy at least the first half of this movie. With that said, there’s a point about half way through where the whole movie shifts…..Trust me, you’ll know it.

It’s all downhill after that.

I’ve never read the book this was based on, but after hearing all the news about the reshooting of the ending to this, and now having seen what was replaced, I think either ending still would leave me disappointed. This is one instance where the ending is very abrupt, and lots of things are left up in the air…on purpose…and it’s just not right.

I only recommend this to people who are die-hard Will Smith fans, because it’s got to be one of my least favorite of his films…(OK, well, least favorite of the ones I’ve watched all the way through, because I still won’t go anywhere near Wild Wild West)…Or, at least to those who want to see what everyone is talking about with the whole switched ending.

The Dark Knight Teaser!

leave a comment »

So the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight popped up online yesterday, though it wasn’t at Comic-Con….

There’s no footage, which is disappointing, but the reveal of Heath Ledger’s Joker-voice was pretty darn good if you ask me….

Check it out for yourself….
