Monday TV Preview

with 3 comments

I apologize for the lack of a Sunday Night TV Preview…There was The Amazing Race, which was entertaining, yet disappointing who came in last….Apparently while sitting at those tasks for hours when they are confused, even if the clue tells them that spelling counts, they never think to double check at least once. How did Rob or Amber not check “The Phillipines”….they deserved to be eliminated if they didn’t catch that. Battlestar is still on the Tivo….it wasn’t all that exciting while I was watching, but I was pretty distracted while searching for apartments online…..Anyway, let’s get to it!

24-At least I’m forgetting what’s in the previews, because they always seem to spoil a lot. Last we saw, wasn’t that one Russian guard shot before he could talk to CTU? I think we get a visit to the ex-Mrs. Logan tonight. Other than that, should be an entertaining hour….as always!

Prison Break– On a break…no new episode this week!

The Riches– I saw a preview for this one, and never got a chance to watch the pilot online. Still, I’m intrigued. It’s not like I need another TV show to watch, do I? Sure….there’s always room.

Here’s a description of the pilot, courtesy of Zap2it

This new FX dramedy, created by playwright Dmitry Lipkin, follows the exploits of Wayne (actor/comedian Eddie Izzard) and Dahlia (Minnie Driver, “Will & Grace”) Malloy and their children Cael (Noel Fisher), Dehliah (Shannon Woodward) and Sam (Aidan Mitchell). The Malloys are a family of gypsy travelers, conning unsuspecting “buffers” (their term for ordinary, law-abiding citizens) out of money while driving the country in their beat-up RV. But when their RV runs a car off the road — killing its occupants — Wayne senses a golden opportunity; soon, the Malloys adopt the persona of the deceased couple (attorney Doug Rich and his wife Cherien), move with the kids into a fancy gated community and start a con like none they’ve ever pulled.

That’s it folks…..at least March Madness should fill some of the voids of this current repeat and showless time!  I just realized, no Survivor this week…or next!  What to do?!

Amazon and Tivo make a deal

leave a comment »

Has anyone else with a Tivo tried the new service via Amazon that lets you download/rent movies to your Tivo box? It’s actually a decent idea.

I’m considering dropping Netflix if they end up getting enough support for the deal. It’s $4 bucks a rental, and considering I average 2 a month, I can save the hassle of waiting for my delay through the mail and stick to downloads…..

Unless of course, I manage to get a job somewhere with a better rate of delivery (say, Texas, maybe?)

I just got one movie, As Good As It Gets, and they said it was coming from California instead of my usual shipping center because it was unavailable….seriously, just send me the next one on my list instead of making me wait for the other one. Yeesh!

Follow this link if you’ve got a Tivo, and you’ll get 15$ for signing up.

Survivor: Fiji – “Love Many. Trust Few. Do Wrong to None”

leave a comment »

Well, my wishes were not fulfilled with this episode.  Is Ravu going to make it as long of a losing streak as Ulong?  Apparently not, because they’re gonna merge next time.  That showdown with Dreamz and Rocky…not as great as I’d hoped…

But it does set up for an interesting turn of events later…..looks like Rocky picks Dreamz when they switch next time.

I found Earl’s helping of Yau-Man a good-faith gesture, but in the end, it doesn’t help him all that much.  I would think Earl would want the idol to himself, because there is no guarantee that Yau will have his back.  Do they even have an alliance?  I don’t know…..Yau just doesn’t seem to have that many allies, that’s all.

Moto showed major signs of fracture in their alliance.  Lisi and Stacy were being pretty mean to Dreamz…I mean come on, at least show the people how to use the coffee machine.  I’ve never seen one like that either…. Probably clever editing, but I doubt Casahndra would drink coffee that full of grinds…. that looked gross.  Initially, I thought they might have had some hot chocolate in there too, but that’s when all the jerkiness started.

And Boo…don’t complain when the others talk trash to your face when you show up to a challenge eating/chewing a mango.  That’s one big fat hypocrite if you ask me.  I just hope he doesn’t win.

You heard it here and now….My pick to win is Earl….He’s setting himself up quite well…..and depending on how it shakes out, he might have a hidden immunity idol to boot.

Battlestar Galactica 3.16 “Maelstrom”

leave a comment »

I’m still in shock over what happened in Battlestar last night.

Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, quite possibly my favorite character in the show, died….Seriously….did they just do that?

Overall, I thought the episode was a little slow, and it focused way too much on flashbacks. I still find myself wondering what that symbol really meant. I’m still confused, and don’t have much to say about the episode. It’s already been cleared off the Tivo…I’ll look for some theories on this one.

I hear Starbuck returns for a cliffhanger in a few episodes to end the season….Either she’ll be revealed as a Final Five Cylon, or something else big (which I have no idea what…)will happen. Either way, at least she’ll be back at least one more time.

It was a sad sad night for Battlestar Galactica fans….Is it just me, or was she probably the most popular character on the show?!

Monday TV Preview

leave a comment »

So it’s another busy night in TV-land….probably the last busy Monday for awhile now….

Here we go.

Prison Break– I’m thinking we’ll see what happens with Kellerman and the President.  I also sense a looming showdown between Michael and said President.  She hasn’t shown her face on the show since season 1, so it’ll be interesting to see if she still has the same edge to her character.  I wouldn’t mind a little more interaction between Sara and Michael….seems like they’ve hardly spoken since the sweeps episode on the train.

24-It’ll be interesting to see where this one heads, after that attempt on the life of the President.  I think he’ll survive, but I’m sensing Hassad will turn evil in the coming episodes…The guy has literally done nothing since the beginning of the season….same goes for the girl at CTU….I don’t remember her name….Oh…probably because she does nothing but tell people she can’t log in or the servers are screwed up.

Heroes– My fave of the night….I hear there’s a new hero coming in. I won’t reveal now, but I’m pretty sure I know her powers, and if you’ve been reading most of the articles about the show, they probably already revealed it at some point.  Linderman should also finally pop up.  At least one thing’s for sure.  Peter will be in this episode…and Hiro better find the stinkin’ sword already!   Don’t miss the Spiderman 3 preview during (or probably after) the show.

Look for recaps after the shows.

Lost 3.11- “Enter 77″ Promo

leave a comment »

Here’s a promo for next week’s Lost, which looks particularly action-packed. Hopefully they’ll actually tell us who this guy with the eye patch is instead of stalling or delaying it longer. By the looks of it, this episode could finally give Season 3 the kick in the rear it’s been needing.

Thursday TV Preview

leave a comment »

There’s not as much good TV on tonight as there usually is for Thursday.  May give me the opportunity to watch a show I don’t usually get to.

Survivor: Fiji– If memory serves, tonight Gary AKA “Papa Smurf” (awesome that Jeff calls him that!) gets another visit from medical…I sense he may leave before this season is over, but maybe he can pull through, cause he’s just cool.  Also, Anthony is supposedly going to “take a beating”, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a more mental thing than anything…after he couldn’t eat that pig snout last week, then made excuses about having no spit, I think his team may hit him hard on that one.  Should start picking up in drama….for sure.

Grey’s is a repeat, as well as The Office… I may try to catch 30 Rock even though I’ll have no idea what’s going on…..There’s also a possible Tivo hunt on the schedule….see if I can come up with anything good.

How I already miss sweeps….::sigh::

Spidey Visits Some Heroes

leave a comment »

Surely this has been mentioned on the Heroes official site, as well as numerous other outlets, but don’t forget that next week during Heroes (well…probably after) they’ll have a look at Spiderman 3. I think I heard this will contain an extended clip (and possibly some sort of actor/director commentary or look behind the scenes).

I know I’ll tune in…I think. I’m considering staying away to avoid any potential spoilers, but I haven’t decided yet. Probably will be a last minute decision.

Lost 3.10- “Tricia Tanaka is Dead” Recap

leave a comment »

I was pleasantly surprised by tonight’s Lost. We started with a flashback right off the bat with a young Hurley watching his dad leave for what’s supposedly a short trip, but turns out he leaves and never comes back…at least not until later. 17 years later.

The episode was really a lot more lighthearted than the previous two, which was a welcome relief. Hurley was doing a bunch of little snippets that have been dearly missed these past few weeks. Overall, I guess not much plot was developed, but it was a great message Hurley brought up about having some hope, and it really made sense once they played all that slow-mo with Jin giving the flower to Sun, and Charlie going to Claire, drawing on their relationships and how they just need to have faith in each other and hope that it will all work out. (my attempt at an interpretation)

I was also glad that Charlie didn’t continue to mope, and took the chance to ride shotgun with Hurley…Nice moment. Glad to see it worked out for Hurley in the end. Sawyer continued to be priceless, and I can count off the top of my head at least three nicknames that made me laugh out loud tonight.

The end of the episode seemed to be one of the biggest plot movements in awhile, seeing as they finally pointed out to Rousseau that her daughter is still alive and well (which we’ve pretty much know since way back in Season 2). At least…it seemed big to me.

Next week looks to be huge…I hear we may get a big revelation about the Dharma Initiative, and my guess is it has to do with Eye-Patch man and his return. I’ll post a promo once it’s up.

Thoughts about the episode? Post ’em!
