The Incredible Hulk Full Trailer #2

leave a comment »

/Film has the new trailer up for The Incredible Hulk, and I think I was totally in the second I saw the Hulk using demolished wreckage (cars, I think) as boxing gloves.

This one just moved up a notch on my anticipated list….Hulk smash!!!

Go here to choose what version to watch.

Looks like the perfect summer blockbuster event!  Can this week get any better than it already has been?

New The Dark Knight Trailer!

leave a comment »

I was lucky enough to find a few of the blogs I read posting bootlegged versions of the latest Dark Knight trailer that’s due out soon (apparently next week).

I think Heath Ledger’s final perfomance will garner a lot of praise from fanboys and general moviegoers as well, because his incarnation of the Joker appears to be spot on, and easily the best that will ever be done.

It is going to be interesting to see how they deal with it if they have to bring the Joker back, because it really seems like his performance is going to overshadow anyone who tries to take over.

I’m really looking forward to this one now!

Go here to watch it before it gets taken down!

New Indy 4 TV Spot!

leave a comment »

Normally I don’t watch or post these things anymore, just to avoid spoilery stuff.

This new TV spot for quite possibly one of my most anticipated movies ever, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is just too awesome to pass up.

Take a look about halfway through when Harrison Ford is looking off toward somone offscreen….Looks pretty badass if you ask me!

Survivor Micronesia Musings

leave a comment »

You know, I’ve been expecting all along that Natalie would have some screen time in an episode, considering she’s hung around this long.

I just didn’t quite expect her to be as cocky and arrogant as she came off in tonight’s episode. She literally owned the episode…I think about 75% of those talking heads were hers, and what was with the expanded lead-in to tribal council with her STILL talking?!

She needs to go….with Cirie…..

The thing I don’t understand is why Amanda and James were all mopey, just hoping that Jason did what he ended up doing….If they had spoken with Jason, told him that Natalie was going to stab him in the back, and then talked to Erik, who is on the outs since it was Girls vs. Guys, that would have given them the numbers to flip it right back at Parvati, Natalie and Alexis.

Seriously…That makes sense, doesn’t it?

I thought these players were supposed to be All-Stars….

NBC Shows Some Smarts…Says No to O.J.

leave a comment »

I’m glad that NBC and the people behind casting for the inevitable Celebrity Apprentice 2 had the smarts to NOT put O.J. Simpson on the show.

After all the problems he’s had with the law in the past few years, he doesn’t deserve to be featured on a national television program. It’d be like rewarding him for being the way he is, and I think there’s one thing that’s pretty obvious…he’s no role model.

Even so, like The Apprentice before it, I don’t think there’s any way that follow up seasons of the show will ever top the 1st season. Piers Morgan was an absolute perfect choice to make that show entertaining, and there’s just no topping that.

Survivor Returning to Africa?!

leave a comment »

I’ve always been a huge fan of Survivor: Africa from way back in the day….It had easily some of the best casting for any season that’s ever been produced, and despite a lot of people complaining it was not the best of seasons, I’ve always thought it shined as one of the best.

With that said, it’s a very exciting development to see that Africa is possibly being considered for the 17th season of Survivor, and also the first season to be shot entirely in HD.

The location is known as Gabon, and is in Western Africa….They had me at Africa….though, I am curious to see if it’s as desolate as Kenya was, or if it might be in a more wooded area.

Either way…I’m there. Bring on this season’s finale so we can see what the logo looks like. If it’s good enough, I might just have to get some new Survivor-themed gear.

Bargain Bin Lookout- April 20th, 2008

Best Buy

$4.99

The Bourne Identity I was one of those people who never saw this while it was in theatres during its initial run.  I’ve regretted it ever since, as its easily one of the more thrilling action movie startups in awhile.  It has what’s often considered one of the finest car chases ever put on film.

The Bourne Supremacy– While I had negative feelings toward this one until I saw it NOT in a theater full of rowdy teens, it has grown on me.  Paul Greengrass took over for Doug Liman, and this is where Bourne picked up it’s “shaky cam” tendencies.  If you set those aside, this is actually a very entertaining flick…which is ultimately paid off by The Bourne Ultimatum.

Also worth mentioning: The Minority Report

Circuit City

$6.99

SaharaThis one was a major dud when it was released, but it’s got some awesome beauty shots of the desert set up by director Breck Eisner.  There’s some decent action, and Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn have some very good chemistry as best friends…Highly underrated if you ask me…Rainn Wilson, AKA Dwight Schrute from The Office has a minor role.

Top GunOld school Bruckheimer…Tom Cruise as Maverick, Anthony Edwards, in pretty much his only movie role ever, plays Goose…If you’re into the military you’ll probably like it.  Lots of big names early on in their career show up too.

$8.99

Jumanji (Special Edition I think…)- Robin Williams leads the cast in bringing the picture book we all know about to life.  It’s actually not too bad…despite some iffy special effects (they’re good for the year this one came out, but imagine if it came out now….), it’s entertaining enough for kids and also probably of interest to those of us who read the book in grade school.

Stranger Than Fiction– Will Ferrell in a serious role….I went into this with the lowest of expectations, but was floored by how much I ended up enjoying it.  Maggie Gyllenhaal is a nice contrast to Ferrell, and there’s a lot of quirky, funny moments.  It’s gloomy at points, but it’s made up for by the performance of Ferrell.  Seriously…the guy can pull of the serious stuff too.

The Office Season Finale Rumblings

with 2 comments

Over at Watch With Kristin, they’ve posted a preview of what to possibly expect for this season’s Office finale.

While I might normally expect these types of posts to be filled with spoilery goodness, today it’s not so.  But it does make some interesting points that set up a potentially HUGE finale.

The main thing she points out is that we know Jim is going to propose.  Also, after the episode this week, Pam pretty much knows it too.  The thing is, there’s apparently something bigger out there…..and I can’t really imagine what it would be.

The fact that there’s also a mention of a green screen being used in at least one scene doesn’t really answer any questions, other than the fact that Jim and Pam might go on some exotic getaway, but that seems too simple.

What’s in store for The Office at the end of this season?  I don’t really know….but I’m hoping they floor us like they did with that Season 2 finale…still one of the best hours (well, 40 minutes) of television ever.

Any thoughts?

Musing Preview: The Pixar Story

leave a comment »

I was going to watch the trailer /Film has up about The Pixar Story, an upcoming documentary about everything Pixar, last night but never got around to it.

Well, I just watched it and it looks like a great story about Pixar and how they’ve gotten to where they are now.

I personally have enjoyed every movie they’ve ever released. While they aren’t all my all-time favorites, they were all unique stories that kept me entertained. For anyone who doesn’t know…and not many people haven’t heard of Pixar…they’ve unleashed a lot of animated hits, starting with Toy Story and most recently the upcoming animated adventure Wall-E.

Anyone who’s seen any of their movies should probably consider at least watching this trailer….it just might pique your interest for the documentary.

The documentary, The Pixar Story, will release exclusively on STARZ at 10p eastern time….

Guess I get to find a way to watch this one…..

Office Musings: The Chair Model

with 2 comments

I was just about to write off tonight’s episode as one of the worst in a long time…..that was until about 20 minutes in when Jim talked to Pam at her desk about proposing, then in a talking head made the comment about buying an engagement ring for Pam a week after they started dating (all after saying a proposal would happen, at some point).

That and the final Jim & Pam scene….

And I’m starting to think the only good episode B.J. Novak may ever write was The Fire back in Season 2….
