Spidey Visits Some Heroes

leave a comment »

Surely this has been mentioned on the Heroes official site, as well as numerous other outlets, but don’t forget that next week during Heroes (well…probably after) they’ll have a look at Spiderman 3. I think I heard this will contain an extended clip (and possibly some sort of actor/director commentary or look behind the scenes).

I know I’ll tune in…I think. I’m considering staying away to avoid any potential spoilers, but I haven’t decided yet. Probably will be a last minute decision.

Lost 3.10- “Tricia Tanaka is Dead” Recap

leave a comment »

I was pleasantly surprised by tonight’s Lost. We started with a flashback right off the bat with a young Hurley watching his dad leave for what’s supposedly a short trip, but turns out he leaves and never comes back…at least not until later. 17 years later.

The episode was really a lot more lighthearted than the previous two, which was a welcome relief. Hurley was doing a bunch of little snippets that have been dearly missed these past few weeks. Overall, I guess not much plot was developed, but it was a great message Hurley brought up about having some hope, and it really made sense once they played all that slow-mo with Jin giving the flower to Sun, and Charlie going to Claire, drawing on their relationships and how they just need to have faith in each other and hope that it will all work out. (my attempt at an interpretation)

I was also glad that Charlie didn’t continue to mope, and took the chance to ride shotgun with Hurley…Nice moment. Glad to see it worked out for Hurley in the end. Sawyer continued to be priceless, and I can count off the top of my head at least three nicknames that made me laugh out loud tonight.

The end of the episode seemed to be one of the biggest plot movements in awhile, seeing as they finally pointed out to Rousseau that her daughter is still alive and well (which we’ve pretty much know since way back in Season 2). At least…it seemed big to me.

Next week looks to be huge…I hear we may get a big revelation about the Dharma Initiative, and my guess is it has to do with Eye-Patch man and his return. I’ll post a promo once it’s up.

Thoughts about the episode? Post ’em!

Die Hard 4.0 Poster

with 2 comments

I’ve been a huge fan of the Die Hard series for a lot of years now, and I can’t say how glad I am they finally got a fourth off the ground…..I still have a few doubts about whether it can live up to my immense standards, but the latest theatrical poster has me that much more excited for this summer.

Die Hard 4.0 Theatrical Poster

It may not be as good as Die Hard and Die Hard With a Vengeance, but if it’s better than Die Hard 2, I think that’s saying enough.

Wednesday TV Preview

leave a comment »

So tonight there’s a couple of shows I’ll be focused on.

Friday Night Lights– I think I remember seeing the preview where it asked the question “When your kids go out at night, do you really know what’s happening?”  It was very dramatic, but looked good.  I’m assuming someone will be injured or arrested at some high-school party.  I’m glad I caught onto this show….it’s actually pretty entertaining.  I just started on 24 season 5 DVDs, and the lady that plays the wife of the coach is in it….Tune in!

Lost-“Tricia Tanaka is Dead”- If they actually hold up to the promos, which hasn’t happened lately, we’ll actually go back to the main island for a Hurley flashback.  I hear Cheech Marin is playing Hurley’s dad, so that should be a nice surprise.  I’m hoping there’s some sort of revelation or mystery (along with some answered questions….like Heroes did!) to ramp up the action a little bit.  I think it was about this point last season where Henry Gale showed up and made the show crazy fun.

Look for recaps later.  Here’s a clip to wet your appetite.

Why Grey’s Should All Just be Friends

leave a comment »

So now that the whole Isaiah Washington fiasco has finally died down over on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, now there’s a whole new feud starting.

Apparently there’s a bunch of squabbling over who’s better than who, now that Kate Walsh, who plays Addison, is getting her own possible spinoff. Ellen Pompeo, the lead character of Grey’s, thinks she should have been told before they went ahead with the plans, and now Katherine Heigl has stopped contract negotiations because she thinks she worth just as much, if not more, than Isaiah or Sandra Oh.

This is pretty ridiculous. Why can’t they all just do like the cast of Friends, and negotiate as a group? There are just about the same number of them as there are on Friends. It would put an end to at least some of the nonsense that’s going on behind the scenes of this great show!

Action News…the next great TV show

leave a comment »

Has anyone else heard much on this new show Action News? I’m thinking this show could be the next big one added to my weekly Tivo To-Do list.

It’ll take place in a newsroom with two fellow (and competing?) anchors….Now Fred Willard has joined the cast. I wonder how many ex-Everybody Loves Raymond cast members they can get onto the show.

It sounds interesting…let’s just hope it turns out better than Studio 60 (as far as hype is concerned).

Star Trek Picks a Date

with one comment

The news is out….Star Trek XI, which I thought might never be made at all (didn’t they say after the last flop that was released they’d never make another Star Trek movie?), has officially picked Christmas 2008 for its release.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a Trekkie. I never have even seen an episode of the TV series, and I very vaguely remember the movie Star Trek: First Contact.

I really am hoping this will be good, and if all the rumors about casting going around right now are true, then it has some major blockbuster potential.

Matt Damon’s name has been around for awhile, and if he does indeed sign on, that will be a huge boost for the film….Also, rumor has it Adrien Brody is in talks to play Spock, which seems like a cool casting to me. Gary Sinise is also rumored as Dr. McCoy.

J.J. Abrams is somewhat of a draw for me, but after his dud with Mission Impossible III, I’ll see where he goes with it. I’m still holding out hope….The effects needed to pull this movie off have come a long way.

It’ll be interesting to see reaction to a trailer when they get one out….But, there’s still plenty of other movies to keep me satisfied until this one gets released.

Fantastic Four 2 TV Spot

with one comment

This spot popped up during Heroes last night, and somewhere else too.  Glad to finally see another look.  Jessica Alba has a new look going on….don’t know if it’s just the longer hair or what.

I have really high hopes for this movie…pretty sure to be entertaining, and considering I almost always like superhero movies, I think this should be a blast.
