Battlestar Galactica 3.16 “Maelstrom”

leave a comment »

I’m still in shock over what happened in Battlestar last night.

Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, quite possibly my favorite character in the show, died….Seriously….did they just do that?

Overall, I thought the episode was a little slow, and it focused way too much on flashbacks. I still find myself wondering what that symbol really meant. I’m still confused, and don’t have much to say about the episode. It’s already been cleared off the Tivo…I’ll look for some theories on this one.

I hear Starbuck returns for a cliffhanger in a few episodes to end the season….Either she’ll be revealed as a Final Five Cylon, or something else big (which I have no idea what…)will happen. Either way, at least she’ll be back at least one more time.

It was a sad sad night for Battlestar Galactica fans….Is it just me, or was she probably the most popular character on the show?!

Weekend TV Preview

leave a comment »

So here’s the scoop for TV this weekend….well, Sunday anyway.

Battlestar Galactica- This is the Starbuck episode a lot of people have probably been waiting for. I think they answer something to do with her “destiny” and that painting she recognized….Anyway….it deals with her past at least. That’s all I want to know really….This show has really surprised me….I just hope next season isn’t its last.

The Apprentice: Los Angeles– I just read the candidates compete for a chance to rap with Snoop Dogg….Great…..all the more reason not to watch….Even though I probably will anyway.

The Amazing Race: All Stars- All I’ve found is that they will have rock climbing and whitewater rafting…Now it’s coming back. Isn’t this the preview that teased it as life-or-death or something.  Probably just clever editing, showing that team go into the water.  Anyway…it’s just good to have the race back!

Star Trek Picks a Date

with one comment

The news is out….Star Trek XI, which I thought might never be made at all (didn’t they say after the last flop that was released they’d never make another Star Trek movie?), has officially picked Christmas 2008 for its release.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a Trekkie. I never have even seen an episode of the TV series, and I very vaguely remember the movie Star Trek: First Contact.

I really am hoping this will be good, and if all the rumors about casting going around right now are true, then it has some major blockbuster potential.

Matt Damon’s name has been around for awhile, and if he does indeed sign on, that will be a huge boost for the film….Also, rumor has it Adrien Brody is in talks to play Spock, which seems like a cool casting to me. Gary Sinise is also rumored as Dr. McCoy.

J.J. Abrams is somewhat of a draw for me, but after his dud with Mission Impossible III, I’ll see where he goes with it. I’m still holding out hope….The effects needed to pull this movie off have come a long way.

It’ll be interesting to see reaction to a trailer when they get one out….But, there’s still plenty of other movies to keep me satisfied until this one gets released.

Via Coming Soon!
