The Office – Season 6

leave a comment »

I’ve begun to get that end of summer hankering for new TV, and one of the shows I’m missing the most is The Office on NBC.

While the last few seasons were by no means the best, the story arcs they are branching off are starting to become more and more intriguing.

-Pam & Jim having a baby and eventually gettig married

-Michaels relationship, or lack thereof with Holly and other random women

-Anything having to do with Dwight’s and Andy’s shenanigans in the office

These are just a few of the intriguing plot points I’m following. Feelfree to comment with your own favorite moments on the show

Anyhoo, it,s time for me to watch The Closer on TNT w/ the wife and then check out Jon & Kate plus 8 to see eat trouble they are causing these days…

Peace!

“The Office” spinoff: Yay or Nay?

with one comment

A whole bunch of NBC news coming our way today, via a mini-upfront type presentation by the network.

One of the highlights for me revolves around this proposed spinoff of The Office that NBC has planned. I value Office news highly, because it’s been a show I’ve followed since it premiered and before everyone joined the bandwagon and made it what it is today.

This spinoff has me both incredibly excited and somewhat worried….On the one hand, it could be another great show for NBC, with good writing and hilarious situations…on the other hand, as Watch With Kristin points out (along with many others), it could be too much of a good thing. I’ll reserve judgment until I see who they get as a new “Michael Scott” type character (if they go that route with it).

One thing I think NBC should consider is to NOT make it another Dunder Mifflin Branch….A great idea would be to make it someone who does business with Dunder Mifflin, and spin it off that way. Then the regular Office staff can stay in tact. There is no way they can stand to lose some of their co-workers to another show because it just wouldn’t be the same.

Any thoughts? Feel free to post…..All in all, it’s an exciting day for fans of TV….and NBC!

I know the promo after this link probably isn’t the most revealing, but it’s finally setting up Jam, and I’m excited to see what goes down!

Seriously, I’ve been waiting for this all season….finally, the writers appear to have delivered!

Go here!

Is the Office going to be permanently supersized?

leave a comment »

Interesting developments on The Office forefront.  GMMR has a mention about the upfront presentations at NBC, and they are apparently considering making The Office an hourlong show.

Honestly, I’m all for it.  I just hope that if it does indeed happen, they can keep the momentum in the episodes going.  Some of the longer episodes have dragged before….They were still good, but not the best ones.

It’ll be interesting to see how this turns out..If it does happen, I’m sure I’ll have yet another conflict in my TV shows overlapping….But it will be worth the sacrifice.

Dwight Schrute IS Jim Halpert

with one comment

Remember the cold open from this week’s Office that has Jim impersonating Dwight (a spot-on impersonation I might add)….

Well, I never got a chance to watch the episode because of VCR technical difficulties  (why I wish I had a dual-tuner Tivo…yeesh), but later in the episode, Dwight impersonates Jim.

It’s pretty spot-on also…..They both have a good sense of the other…Check it out below.  These writers are geniuses!

Jim Halpert IS Dwight Schrute…

I’m holding out to watch the clip I’ve embedded below.

GMMR pointed this out, and I’d have to agree that this probably is the cold open for the upcoming NEW episode this week, entitled “Product Recall”.   Honestly, the freeze frame and the whole concept of Jim playing Dwight makes me giggle.

If it’s a clue as to the quality of this week’s episode, all signs point to a hilarious episode…which is good, considering how much The Office rocks!

::SPOILER ALERT::

The Office 3.21- “Product Recall” Photos

leave a comment »

GMMR has a little glimpse at some photos from the next new episode of The Office, titled “Product Recall, posted. Here’s a description from said glimpse.

“The office is in crisis mode after a large shipment of Dunder-Mifflin paper is accidentally sent out with an obscene watermark. Michael tries to manage the media with an impromptu press conference. Jim and Andy try to calm the high school principal who has sent out prom invites on the affected stationery.”

I’m hoping this a good rebound episode, because despite some of the funny shenanigans that went on this week, I just didn’t feel like it delivered a typical feeling I get from episodes of the show.

How many episodes are left anyway?  I keep thinking there’s only 2 or 3….is it really more?  or am I just imagining things?

Either way…..is it Thursday yet?

The Office 3.20- “Safety Training” Recap

leave a comment »

So overall, I was a little disappointed by tonight’s episode.  It had some high points, but overall, no major plot points were moved forward.

I’m ready for the promos to see where this is going…

The Good:

  • Jim and Pam spoke to each other….with NO hostility.
  • The Jam moment when Kevin said how Jim had been at Pam’s desk for hours and HOURS…..
  • The shunning and un-shunning was pretty funny…
  • The watermelon bouncing on the trampoline and onto the car….and then Stanley’s little reaction shot after the credits….
  • The jokes about the betting….especially Creed biting into the potato…..funny moments like these are what makes The Office so good.

The Bad:

  • I thought Michael was a little overboard…Not crazy like at the wedding earlier this season, but still….
  • Did anything even close to major happen tonight?  No!  Sure doesn’t seem like there’s only a few episodes to go before a finale….let’s see what the promos start to push now.
  • No new episode next week….bummer.

I’m hoping for a rebound episode next time….This one was just lackluster…….

It’s O.K. though….I have faith that The Office will go out on another high note this year!

Is “The Office” in a slump?

leave a comment »

I caught this article on TV Squad this afternoon.

It talks about the six reasons why NBC’s The Office is in a slump.  While I don’t particularly agree that the show is in a slump, I will admit that point #1 and #2 are somewhat right.  Other than that, I’d consider this season just as great as the model for perfection, Season 2.

Check it out and see what you think….
