Don’t forget to “Drive” tonight

leave a comment »

Just a reminder post….It’s only a few short hours until the premiere of Drive on FOX.  Honestly, if you haven’t seen at least on preview or commercial for this on TV in the past month or two, I’d be extremely surprised.

Hopefully it’s not the next The Nine, which everybody loves, yet it somehow manages to bomb….At least they’re not calling it the “next big thing in television”, or some crap like that.

Seeing as it is two hours tonight, and another hour tomorrow, I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of just how good or bad it will be by the end of the week.

American Idol…not the juggernaut it used to be.

leave a comment »

This bit of news actually made me happy.

For years I’ve been wondering how American Idol gets the huge audiences it does, when it’s not that good anyway….and moreover, I’ve been waiting for it to dip in the ratings and/or be beaten by another show in the same time slot.

According to an entry at TV Squad, viewership is down nearly 10 percent.  Now, it’s still killing everything in it’s time period….but I think the cracks are finally starting to show.

Maybe they’ll consider taking a year or two off in between seasons, or better yet, they’ll stop making it!  I still have yet to understand the appeal of watching a bunch of nobodies compete for a contract, who then go off thinking they have a guaranteed career, only to go nowhere.

We’ll see if this is just the beginning of the end, or a fluke of this season…

Tonight, life without Prison Break starts for a few months…In it’s place is some B-Grade television……

Falcon Beach-“After the Fall”-Considering I think I missed the last couple episodes of the first season, I’m not sure if they set up tonight’s events or not. Apparently, the evil Bradshaw family (well, half of them at least) begin a takeover of the Tanner residence. Also, Danny and Erin are apparently already having a kid….possibly. Hopefully this keeps me as entertained as last summer…

2410 p.m. – 11 p.m.– I’m going to avoid a write-up on this one, and just go with the description from Meevee.

President Palmer makes a bold gambit, and Jack changes his strategy about Fayed.

I watched the preview which gave away too much last week, and I’m thinking tonight I’ll mute and turn away as soon as the show ends.

Thank God You’re Here- Pilot– Hosted by David Alan Grier, this show actually piqued my interest a little bit.  It’s been awhile since there was a challenge towards the likes of Whose Line is it Anyway?…..I saw a clip of the Jason Alexander skit, and it had a couple of good laughs.  I’m particularly interested to see it because most of the people don’t have improv experience….and also, Angela from The Office will appear on the show at some point.

That’s all tonight…..A mere 2 weeks until Heroes returns……phew!

Below is another new poster that has surfaced for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer….

Honestly, I’m a little underwhelmed by this one….

Still looking forward to this summer blockbuster though.

Prison Break 2.22- “Sona” Recap

with one comment

Let me start off by saying this season finale for Prison Break far outranks last season’s weak ending. Who would have thought they could weave it all together and leave it open for what is now a very anticipated season 3 for me.

The Good:

  • Glad T-Bag got his due, and looks to be stuck in the slammer in Panama for awhile…..Odds are he’ll get out, but I’m sure he’ll be put through alot before then.
  • That setup where the scientists (or whatever they are) say breaking out again is exactly what the want Michael to do. It’s almost like they are the Others, only Fox’s version….What do they want him out for?!
  • The twists and the turns…..I thought Kellerman was on the good…turns out he still is a little conniving. My only question, was he killed, or did those shotguns all miss him. Somehow, seeing as he’s been cast in the Grey’s spinoff, I think poor Kellerman will bite the dust. But….I am intrigued.
  • Also….how about the demise of Bill Kim…..I didn’t like him much, and kind of saw the shot from Sara getting him

The Not so Good:

  • The overall creepiness. Not really bad….I just know I never want to be stuck in a Panamanian prison, or wherever the heck they are now.
  • So is all that money just sitting at the bottom of that pond?

No complaints really….

I’m intrigued to see where this goes, and I’m glad the finale lived up to the hype I’ve given it. All of the 3 previous episodes felt like finales, and that is good, because Prison Break seemed to have dipped a little in the middle.

All I know is…..I’m ready for August…..and Season 3 (a full season!)

Still missing Heroes on Mondays, but the season finale for Prison Break should compensate for that.

Prison Break- Michael has to save Lincoln….Kellerman is clearing Sara’s name….T-Bag is caught….Bellick is in prison…..Sucre has to save Maricruz…..Lots of stuff to be resolved in this finale.  I’m looking forward to it, seeing as I’ve been with the show since the beginning.

24- I think I remember something involving Jack interrogating Gredenko….honestly, I need to stop watching the previews.  Of course, I never can remember them until the next week’s episode starts. I’m hoping for some major revelation, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Prison Break- “Fin Del Camino” Recap

leave a comment »

So this episode was again particularly satisfying.  Things are shaping up for a decent finale.

Bellick, Michael and Sucre team up, all with different motives, to try and catch T-Bag, only to be swindled into a trap.  I thought it was a nifty set up that T-Bag pulled off, but they sure didn’t seem too concerned about the cops barging in on them.  And Bellick winds up with a bullet in his leg, preventing him from getting away.  Apparently the Panamanian police didn’t see the group of fugitives leaving the crime scene.

Alas, Bellick is behind bars again…only this time in a Panama prison.

T-Bag didn’t slip away for long, and ends up in a showdown with Michael.  There were plenty of great T-Bag quotes that I found funny…..the quip about getting his legs tattooed was up there with the Sawyer line about Nikki in Lost.

Linc manages to get beat by Mahone, leaving an interesting setup for the final episode of Season 2.  It’ll be interesting to see if Mahone makes a break for it in Michael’s boat or not.  I was glad that they set up Mahone as still caring about his family back home.  He really is a good character, no matter how bad he has turned out.

I also almost forgot about Kellerman….I’m surprised he didn’t bite the bullet, literally, this time around.  I think his fate is sealed, considering he’s making his way to the Grey’s spinoff.  I’m glad to see he is helping Sara out by testifying to her claims about the conspiracy….If he follows through with it…..That’s another question.
