FirstShowing.net has fueled the hype for Marvel’s future movie slate by posting about rumors that the studio is gunning to get Leonardo DiCaprio to step into the shoes of Captain America for the still-far-out 2011 tentpole, The First Avenger: Captain America.

Honestly, I think he’s a good fit for the role, if it’s true.  It’s going to be interesting to see who Marvel picks, because the hype is already building after all the hints and winks The Incredible Hulk threw out for the film. There’s even rumors that he was cut out of The Incredible Hulk…or was at least supposed to show up in some capacity.

SPOILER ALERT

He never does show up….they just mention the serum, and a little nod to World War II when they first tested it on a soldier….Heck, they even refer to Tim Roth as a “super soldier”, which is exactly what they called the Captain America prototype before he took the Captain America name.

I’m a sucker for comic book movies, and I’m glad Marvel is self-containing and interweaving all of their movies.  It’s a good step toward making them their own films….I just hope Captain America can compare to Iron Man, because no other summer movie has lived up to the hype like it did…

Let the speculation run wild until whenever Marvel finds their next big star….I’m already psyched!

When I saw the image below, all doubt I had about how cool Ironman would look in the movie was gone.

Seriously, is this not one of the coolest superhero poses you’ve ever seen? And man, that red and gold really looks good. You go Ironman!

There’ve been rumblings of The Dark Knight teaser rumors before The Simpsons Movie.  I recently stumbled onto a teaser description over at Superhero Hype, and it sounds legit….

 And pretty darn cool if you ask me.

I’m thinking we may get a split-second reveal of the Joker, in costume!  ::Fingers Crossed::

Interesting scoop….

Tim Roth, AKA the evil ape from the remake of Planet of the Apes (the Burton movie), has been cast as a villain in The Incredible Hulk.

I don’t know much about Hulk villains, but he’s going to play Abomination, who apparently is an ex-KGB agent that exposes himself to higher doses of gamma rays than Bruce Banner, so he doesn’t mosey between human and alter-ego form.

For some reason, I continue to be more and more excited for this installment in The Hulk….Hopefully a teaser trailer this summer perhaps?

Just watched the newly released full trailer for Fantastic Four and the Rise of the Silver Surfer…..

WOW!  I hope this proves a lot of the haters wrong, because it’s one amazing trailer!  Seriously….they start combining powers, the music is awesome, and holy crap….This summer seriously keeps getting better and better!

USA Today has a cool article up talking about how the role of Tony Stark in next summer’s Iron Man and how actor Robert Downey Jr., who’ll don the red and gold suit, relates to the role.

It’s a pretty good article, and there’s also a nice teaser shot of Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) working on a prototype armor suit.

I’m pretty excited for this one next summer, particularly because Iron Man has some of the best color combos of any of the superheroes….
